Tobu Railway will gradually introduce the new 80000 series trains to the Tobu Urban Park Line starting in the spring of 2025.
The concept is aimed at being “family-friendly.” By changing from a 6-car to a 5-car configuration, they will introduce “fun seats” designed with a children’s room in mind. By adopting a new onboard battery system, they aim to reduce power consumption by over 40% and lower noise levels. The interior of the train is designed with a “living room” theme, offering a calm and comfortable space.
They plan to introduce a total of 25 train sets, comprising 125 cars. Some of the current 60000 series 5-car trains will be repurposed in this process.
