China Southern Airlines Launches Guangzhou-Doha Route, Complementing Qatar Airways
China Southern Airlines has launched a Guangzhou-Doha route on April 22.
The service operates four round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, utilizing the Boeing 787-9. The flight duration is 8 hours and 30 minutes from Guangzhou, and 7 hours and 25 minutes from Doha.
China Southern Airlines has a code-sharing partnership with Qatar Airways, and they have established a strategic partnership. This route complements the 7 mainland China routes offered by Qatar Airways from Doha to Beijing/Daxing, Shanghai/Pudong, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Xiamen, including one daily round trip from Doha to Guangzhou.
For routes to Japan, there are same-day connections for flights to and from Tokyo/Haneda, and outbound same-day connections for Tokyo/Narita and Osaka/Kansai.
With this addition, Japan Airlines (JAL), Akasa Air, and Garuda Indonesia have also entered Doha’s Hamad International Airport this year, making a total of 4 companies including China Southern Airlines. This is the second Chinese airline to serve Doha following Xiamen Airlines.
