Etihad Airways Resumes Airbus A380 Service on Abu Dhabi-New York/JFK Route
Etihad Airways has resumed the deployment of the Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi to New York/John F. Kennedy route starting April 22.
One of the two daily round trips will feature the A380, while the Boeing 787-9 will be utilized for the remaining flight. This adjustment caters to the expanded demand from summer travel and business trips, providing convenient access to the Middle East and India.
The Airbus A380 is equipped with three ‘The Residence’ suites, nine First Apartments, 70 Business Studios, and 405 Economy Smart Seats. Additionally, the economy class includes 80 Economy Space Seats, offering up to 36 inches of seat pitch. ‘The Residence’ is available as an option, where passengers who have purchased first-class tickets can utilize this service for an additional $2,500 per one way. A lounge, ‘The Lobby,’ exclusive for first and business class passengers, is also available.
After a pause in operations due to the pandemic, the Airbus A380 was reintroduced in July this year on the Abu Dhabi-London/Heathrow route, making this the second route. The third deployment, on the Abu Dhabi-Paris/Charles de Gaulle route, has been announced to commence on November 1.
