Keio Corporation will start introducing the new train series ‘2000’ from the beginning of 2026.
The concept is to offer a vehicle that provides more safety and comfort, aspiring to be a vehicle that all generations can trust and continue to enjoy. The exterior design features a rounded shape with circles as the motif for both the front and sides, embodying a vehicle that exudes kindness and assures safety to many. The interior follows a similar rounded motif, creating a natural space that soothes the heart. A free space will be established in car number five.
A new VVVF inverter control device using full SiC components will be adopted to reduce power consumption and lighten the vehicle. Each car will be equipped with two ‘nanoe X’ air purifiers and four security cameras with real-time transmission capabilities. By March 2027, ten trains of four cars each will be introduced. Manufacturing will be handled by J-TREC (Japan Transport Engineering Company).
