The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has announced a gradual increase in the passenger security fee at Hong Kong International Airport.
Currently, a fee of 55 Hong Kong dollars is collected from departing passengers. From January 1, 2025, this will increase to 65 Hong Kong dollars, and then to 75 Hong Kong dollars from 2027 onwards. The increase will apply to tickets issued after these dates. The raise will fund the introduction of a smart security screening system and the replacement of baggage screening systems.
The increase after 2027 will be determined according to the growth in passenger volume and demand. This marks the first fee increase since 2021.
