Kansai Airports will hold the ‘ITAMI Runway Walk’ at Itami Airport on July 6.
The event is targeted at elementary and middle school students and their guardians living in the 10 surrounding cities of Itami Airport. Planned activities include walking on the runway before it opens for the day, commemorative photography, and watching chemical firefighting trucks spray water at the airport fire station. Participation is free of charge. The event can accommodate up to 85 participants.
The event will take place from 4:50 am to 7:10 am on July 6. The eligible cities are Ikeda City, Suita City, Toyonaka City, Minoh City in Osaka Prefecture, and Ashiya City, Amagasaki City, Itami City, Kawanishi City, Takarazuka City, and Nishinomiya City in Hyogo Prefecture. Applications can be submitted via a dedicated application form on the website, from noon on May 31 until noon on June 4.
