ITA Airways inaugurated its route between Rome/Fiumicino and Riyadh on June 2nd.
Flights from Rome/Fiumicino depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights from Riyadh depart on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, operating five round trips per week. The aircraft used for this service is the Airbus A321neo, equipped with 12 Business Class seats, 12 Premium Economy Class seats, and 141 Economy Class seats, totalling 165 seats.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the arrival of the first flight in Riyadh, attended by ITA Airways’ Deputy Vice President of International Sales Pierfrancesco Carino, and Benedetto Menkarloni Poiani, Manager for Asia, Middle East & Africa, along with officials from the Italian Embassy in Riyadh, King Khalid International Airport, APG Saudi – As’hal Travel and Tourism, and the Saudi Tourism Authority. The aircraft was welcomed with a water salute.
On July 1st, ITA Airways plans to launch a route from Rome/Fiumicino to Kuwait City, followed by a route to Jeddah on August 1st, as part of its effort to strengthen its Middle Eastern routes. The airline is also planning to extend its network into Africa with services to Accra and Dakar, aiming for a summer schedule that includes flights to 57 cities.
