China Eastern Airlines has taken delivery of the first aircraft (registration number: B-919G) of the 100 C919 planes it additionally ordered in 2023 from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).
China Eastern Airlines conducted the maiden flight of the same model on May 28, 2023, and is currently operating 5 aircraft on domestic routes within China. With this addition, the fleet has now expanded to six. The airline plans to have a fleet of 10 aircraft by the end of the year and expects to accelerate its large-scale commercial operations.
On June 1, the airline operated a charter flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai, transporting university students from Hong Kong who are heading to Shanghai for exchange studies.
