Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific are collaborating on sustainability initiatives.
At the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting (IATA AGM) and World Air Transport Summit held in Dubai, Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong and Cathay Group CEO Ronald Lam signed a memorandum of understanding.
The goal is to promote the development and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the Asia-Pacific region, including efforts to increase social awareness, propose regional support policies, and establish a global standard framework for calculation, reporting, ensuring transparency, and verifiability. The possibility of joint procurement in specific locations will also be explored.
In addition, they will share success stories about reducing single-use plastics and waste, and improving energy efficiency in ground and cargo operations to enhance performance.
