Hong Kong Airlines plans to increase its pilots by more than 10% and its cabin crew by over 40% by the end of this year.
In the first half of this year, the supply level returned to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels, and the airline continues to expand its fleet and open new routes. In line with this, the company is expanding its recruitment in various regions, including Hong Kong and mainland China. The number of employees is expected to increase by about 500 by the end of the year.
During a cabin crew recruitment event held in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 15th, candidates who advanced to the interview phase were selected from thousands of applicants. More than 20 cabin crew trainees hired at the beginning of this year are expected to start working by the end of the month.
With the diversity of cultural backgrounds of new hires increasing, cultural guidance and language support are being provided. The company has also set up employee assistance programs to address personal and work-related challenges that new employees may face, including counseling and homesickness alleviation. The turnover rate has been relatively stable, and incentive systems have been introduced to boost motivation.
