Qantas Group has announced the introduction of 14 DHC-8-Q400 aircraft.
The plan is to sequentially retire 19 smaller DHC-8-Q200 and DHC-8-Q300 aircraft. The new Q400 planes can fly over 30% faster, reducing travel time on regional routes. The seat capacity is increased by four, bringing the total to 78 seats per aircraft.
The first aircraft is set to be introduced by the end of this year. With this addition, the fleet size of DHC-8-Q400 aircraft will reach 45, enabling operations across various regions for the next decade.
