Hotel New Otani Launches its ‘New Extra Super Mango Shortcake’ Available Until Mid-July
The Hotel New Otani’s three directly managed hotels (Tokyo, Makuhari, and Osaka) will be selling the ‘New Extra Super Mango Shortcake’ until mid-July.
This shortcake is topped with a glossy mango that uses about one whole domestically produced apple mango, entwined with kudzu mixed with passion fruit. The cream consists of two types: cream produced from Kyushu Omuta milk and a cream flavored with mango and passion fruit. The sponge uses ‘brown rice eggs,’ which come from chickens raised on pesticide-free brown rice. Only mangoes deemed suitable for the shortcake are used, therefore, there is no set sales period, and it will be discontinued at the end of the mango season.
The shortcake is available at the Patisserie SATSUKI pastry shop. Priced at 4,860 yen, tax included.
