American Airlines has agreed to conditionally purchase 100 hydrogen engines from ZeroAvia.
ZeroAvia is developing engines for regional aircraft that emit only water vapor during flight. Currently, they are conducting flight tests using a 20-seat aircraft.
American Airlines initially invested in ZeroAvia in 2022 and also participated in the Series C round. The purchase agreement is based on a memorandum of understanding announced in 2022.
