Oriental Land to Launch Disney Cruise Based in Japan, Scheduled for 2028

Oriental Land has signed a licensing agreement with Disney Enterprises on July 9 to operate a cruise business based in Japan.

In addition to theme park and hotel businesses, it will expand into the cruise business. Shipbuilding will start from the fiscal year 2025, with sailing scheduled for the fiscal year 2028. The ships will have a gross tonnage of 140,000, about 1,250 staterooms, a passenger capacity of approximately 4,000 people, and a crew of about 1,500, mainly operating short routes departing from and arriving at ports in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

Disney Cruises, which first set sail in the United States in 1998, currently operates five ships, and plans to add three more in the future, with sailings also planned in Singapore. The prices will be all-inclusive, covering rooms, character experiences, a wide range of dining options, pools, and recreation, except for certain exclusions.
