Aircalin has decided to suspend its Tokyo/Narita to Noumea flights starting September 1.
On May 13, protest activities for independence escalated into riots, with road blockages, buildings and vehicles being set on fire in certain areas. Emergency declarations and curfews were issued, and La Tontouta International Airport was temporarily closed, among other major disruptions.
After the suspension, access to Noumea will still be available via Singapore and Sydney. Tickets can be purchased for the current winter schedule period.
