‘OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resorts’ Grand Opens on June 13th, Rebranding the Former Hotel Nikko Kochi Asahi Royal
Hoshino Resorts announced the opening of ‘OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resorts’ on June 13th. This marks the rebranding of the former Hotel Nikko Kochi Asahi Royal. It is the group’s first venture into Shikoku. With the concept of ‘Enjoy the merry banquet, bring on the night!’, it aims to offer Kochi’s unique hosting culture, including the distinct banquet culture known as ‘Okyaku’. The hotel is a 22-story building above ground and one story below ground, offering 133 rooms in 8 different types, including Utage Twin, Utage Deluxe, Utage Suite, and Dog-Friendly Queen among others. The interior design features Tosa Washi wallpaper decorations and wall art depicting Tosaken dogs enjoying a banquet, complemented by hinoki furniture, round tables, and serving dishes.
The ‘OMO Base’, which features a grand staircase from the first to the second floor, includes a ‘Neighborhood Map’ for information on the surrounding area, ‘OMO Cafe & Bar’, ‘OMO Dining’, a lounge, and a shop. Every evening at 9 PM, the ‘Yosakoi Banquet LIVE’ allows guests to experience the fervor of the Yosakoi festival, and ‘Neighborhood Activities’ are held every Sunday to explore the charm of the city.
At OMO Dining, the ‘TOSHE Inspired’ concept offers a buffet-style meal incorporating Kochi’s local cuisine and cooking techniques. The OMO Cafe & Bar will serve original menus using familiar Kochi ingredients, such as Katsuo Dog and Myoga Nade. The exclusive large communal bath, ‘Tosanoyu’, for staying guests, features an entrance envisioned after Bandai, a carved Tosaken dog, an open-air bath with a view of the garden, and an auto-loyly sauna.
Access is a 4-minute walk from the Tosa Electric Railway Gomen Line’s Niyodogahamae tram stop, and about 5 minutes by car from JR Kochi Station.
