Hong Kong International Airport Offers Incentives for New Routes and Additional Flights with up to Three Years of Support
The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has revamped its incentive program for airlines that establish new routes to or increase flights at Hong Kong International Airport.
Airlines that introduce new passenger or cargo routes to Hong Kong International Airport and demonstrate a certain level of continuity will receive financial assistance for two years. Applications for this assistance are open from June 1 to December 31, 2027.
In addition, airlines that open new passenger or cargo routes to targeted countries or regions according to AAHK’s strategic plan will be eligible for financial assistance for three years. For cargo flights, the condition is that the cargo must be received at the HKIA Dongguan Logistics Park.
Vivian Cheung, the Acting CEO of AAHK, stated, “The connectivity of the aviation network is extremely important for an international aviation hub like Hong Kong International Airport. We have confidence in the long-term development of Hong Kong International Airport. This new program is designed to encourage domestic and international airlines to expedite the introduction of new routes and the increase of flights to Hong Kong International Airport. Since the launch of the program last month, we have already received positive responses from the airlines. AAHK will continue to work closely with existing domestic and international airlines at Hong Kong International Airport and will reach out to other airlines about this program.”
