ACIA Aero Leasing Begins Conversion of ATR72-600 Aircraft with Large Cargo Door Installation Starting August
ACIA Aero Leasing has initiated the conversion of ATR72-600 aircraft into freighters.
This year, the company acquired five aircraft, one of which (with the manufacturing number: MSN1239) will undergo modifications to install a large cargo door starting in August. The work will commence at Empire Aerospace in Idaho, USA, and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2025, including modification and final certification. Initially planned for 2022, the conversion was delayed due to sustained demand for passenger planes.
ACIA Aero Leasing has previously delivered converted freighters to Pattaya Air and Airlink. In the past 18 months, the delivery of ATR72 freighters has reached eight units, including six equipped with Large Cargo Doors (LCD). The company is actively discussing new market opportunities with several prospective and existing customers and operators in the Asia-Pacific region.
ACIA Aero Leasing, a subsidiary of ACIA Aero Capital, is headquartered in Ireland, with offices in France, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. The company leases over 70 regional and freighter aircraft to airlines in more than 21 countries worldwide.
