Qatar Airways has placed an additional order for 20 Boeing 777-9 aircraft.
Qatar Airways is one of the launch customers for the Boeing 777X. It has already ordered 60 Boeing 777-9 aircraft and 34 Boeing 777-8F cargo aircraft, bringing the total Boeing 777X orders close to 100 units. The order has already been reflected in Boeing’s order list, where it had previously been listed as unidentified.
Additionally, Qatar Airways has placed orders for 12 Boeing 787 aircraft and 25 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. According to Boeing’s market forecasts, widebody aircraft such as the Boeing 777X and Boeing 787 are expected to comprise 44% of the fleet of Middle Eastern airlines.
