Due to the heavy rain that has continued since July 25, JR East has suspended operations on various lines in the Tohoku region.
The suspended sections include the Yamagata Shinkansen from Yamagata to Shinjo stations, the Ou Main Line from Murayama to In’nai stations, the Rikuu East Line from Naruko Onsen to Shinjo stations, and the Ofunato Line from Ichinoseki to Kesennuma stations. Substitute bus services on the Rikuu West Line have also been canceled. No substitute transportation, such as buses, will be provided for any of the suspended sections. Among these, the Yamagata Shinkansen and the Ou Main Line section from Murayama to Shinjo are expected to resume operations around mid-August.
