JR East has announced that it will resume operations of some trains on the Yamagata Shinkansen between Yamagata and Oishida Stations on August 1, among the sections that had been suspended.
Due to heavy rain continuing from the 25th, service suspension affects the Yamagata Shinkansen from Yamagata to Shinjo Station, the Ou Main Line from Murayama to Innai Station, the Rikuu East Line from Naruko Onsen to Shinjo Station, the Ofunato Line from Ichinoseki to Kesennuma Station, and the bus replacement service on the Rikuu West Line.
While resuming service around mid-August is expected for the Yamagata Shinkansen and the Ou Main Line between Murayama and Shinjo Station, service on the Yamagata Shinkansen from Yamagata to Oishida Station and on the Ou Main Line from Murayama to Oishida Station will resume ahead on August 1. Concurrently, replacement bus service will start from Oishida to Shinjo Station on August 1. The replacement buses will not stop at intermediate stations.
No prospect of service resumption is in sight for other sections, and there will be no replacement bus service.
