JR West Japan Kyoto SC Development will sequentially renew and open a total of 27 stores in Kyoto Porta’s souvenir zones “Omiyage Koji Kyokomachi” and “Kyokonomi”, and the dining area “Porta Dining” starting from August.
In the station building’s first floor “Omiyage Koji Kyokomachi”, stores such as “Kyogashi Tokoro Tsukigetsu” selling Senbei crackers, and the new brand focusing on Kyoto-produced ingredients, “KNOU”, will open. In the underground east area “Kyokonomi”, the new brand “hacoili by Hakogashi” and “Kyoto Rokkaku Kaburan-an”, selling rice crackers inspired by the haiku of Yosa Buson, are among the new stores.
The underground east area “Porta Kitchen” will be renewed as “Porta Dining” this fall, with four new stores including a new style of meat kappo from Gion and a popular Italian restaurant in Kyoto. More details will be announced around October. Please note that all “Porta Kitchen” stores, except for “551 Horai”, have closed as of July 12th.
In the station building’s B2 floor “South Area” which was renewed this spring, two stores, “axes femme Poetique” and “Moomin Shop Casual Edition”, both firsts in Kyoto, will open this summer.
A “Souvenir Zone Limited Porta Club Card 5 Times Points Up Campaign” will be held from August 1st to 31st. Eligible stores include all shops in the station building’s first-floor “Omiyage Koji Kyokomachi”, “Omiyage Kaido JR Kyoto Station Central Gate Shop”, underground east area “Kyokonomi”, and station building’s second floor “Kyomeika Meisaidokoro Kyoto”.
