JAL’s 4th Airbus A350-1000 Arrives at Haneda

Japan Airlines’ (JAL) fourth Airbus A350-1000 aircraft (registration number: JA04WJ) arrived at Haneda Airport on August 1st.

The aircraft departed from Toulouse, France, at 3:30 PM on July 31st, took off at 3:48 PM, and landed at Haneda Airport at 11:30 AM the following day, arriving at spot 212 at 11:37 AM.

The Airbus A350-1000 is set to become the new flagship aircraft for international routes, succeeding the current mainstay, the Boeing 777-300ER. It has a four-class configuration with 239 seats: 6 in First Class with a “1-1-1” layout, 54 in Business Class with a “1-2-1” layout, 24 in Premium Economy Class with a “2-4-2” layout, and 155 in Economy Class with a “3-3-3” layout. Both First Class and Business Class feature private suites with doors for the first time in JAL. The in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems across all classes include 4K resolution monitors and support Bluetooth connections with wireless headphones.

JAL has ordered 13 units, with the first arriving at Haneda Airport on December 15, 2023, the second on January 15, and the third on March 31. It entered service on January 24 and is currently deployed twice daily on the Tokyo/Haneda to New York/John F. Kennedy route and every other day on the Tokyo/Haneda to Dallas/Fort Worth route. The Tokyo/Haneda to Dallas/Fort Worth route will see an increase to one round trip per day starting August 29.

Additionally, the aircraft is planned to be deployed on the Tokyo/Haneda to London/Heathrow JL43/44 flights within the fiscal year of 2024. (Photo: JAL)
