Takataki Lake Glamping Resort is set to open on August 1st, featuring renovated rooms inside the Kominato Railway Kiha 203 train car.
The resort received the Kiha 203, a decommissioned train car from Kominato Railway and the first of the Kiha 200 series to be preserved, starting on May 1st as an experiential content. It is located on the old line of Kominato Railway used until 1988, and guests can enjoy views of Kominato Railway trains from the balcony. Inside, while retaining distinctive train features such as strap hangers and the driver’s seat, the car is equipped with modern amenities including beds, a kitchen sink, and Wi-Fi.
For dinner, guests can choose between the locally popular “Toshimaya bento” box meal or a BBQ. Overnight guests will also receive official Kominato Railway merchandise as a gift.
