Yamato, JAL, and Spring Japan Launch Cargo-Only Flights between Tokyo/Haneda and Sapporo/Chitose & Kitakyushu
Yamato Holdings, Japan Airlines (JAL), and Spring Japan have started operating cargo-only flights between Tokyo/Haneda and Sapporo/Chitose & Kitakyushu starting August 1.
Both routes will be operated once a day, round trip, using the cargo-only aircraft Airbus A321P2F. This operation represents the only regular cargo flights departing from and arriving at Tokyo/Haneda, and by operating during the late-night hours when passenger flights do not operate, it allows for speedy and fresh distribution to distant locations. It is also possible to connect with international passenger flights departing from Tokyo/Haneda in the morning.
The cargo-only flights by the three companies are operated with three Airbus A321P2Fs leased by Yamato Holdings. JAL is responsible for maintenance and ramp handling, while Spring Japan, a JAL subsidiary, operates the flights. Operations began on April 11, and this marks the 5th airport service, following Tokyo/Narita, Sapporo/Chitose, Kitakyushu, and Okinawa/Naha, resulting in a total of 13 flights operated per day.
