Hotel New Otani Makuhari is hosting the “Sumikko Gurashi Special Sweets Buffet – Visited the Hometown of Shirokuma –” from July 12 through August 31.
The hotel’s pastry chefs have created a sweets buffet inspired by the new theme of ‘Sumikko Gurashi,’ ‘Visited the Hometown of Shirokuma.’ Sample menu items include Shirokuma and Shirokuma’s siblings’ cheese mousse, Penguin? matcha roll cake, Tonkatsu chocolate mousse, Cat chif;fon cake, Tokage’s Ramune jelly, and Furoshiki’s roll cake. As a special offer to visitors, an original sticker will be given out. There are two designs, but no choice is available.
Original coaster-accompanied optional drinks featuring Sumikko characters are available. There are five types of non-alcoholic drinks, each representing the outfits of Shirokuma, Penguin?, Tonkatsu, Cat, and Tokage.
The location is the Tea & Cocktail “The Lounge.” Available hours are lunch from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM (last entry at 2:30 PM) and dinner from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, both in 2-hour shifts. Dinner service is available every Saturday and on July 14, and from August 11 to 15. Prices are 7,600 yen for adults on weekdays, 8,100 yen on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays and from August 13 to 16, and 9,500 yen for dinner on August 3; 3,600 yen for elementary school students, and 2,200 yen for preschoolers (ages 4 and up). Optional drinks are 1,000 yen each. All prices include service charge and tax.
