Kansai Airport has launched a wheelchair mobility assistance service for airlines operating at Kansai International Airport.
Currently, in cases where a request for wheelchair use is made, airlines and handling companies provide support. Under this service, Kansai Airport will handle arrangements and mobility support for wheelchairs upon requests from airlines and handling companies. The service targets wheelchair users utilizing passenger flights docked at Terminal 1 and is available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
This initiative, the first of its kind by a Japanese airport operating company, aims to centralize support for wheelchair users, thereby helping to alleviate the labor shortage facing airlines and handling companies.
