JAL Introduces ‘Kajinosuke DOUBLE DISTILLERY’ and ‘Single Malt Kajinosuke’ to In-Flight Sales on International Flights
Japan Airlines (JAL) will be offering ‘Kajinosuke DOUBLE DISTILLERY’ and ‘Single Malt Kajinosuke’ from Kosho Kajinosuke Distillery for sale on international flights from August 1 to September 30.
The initiative aims to promote the sale of ‘Japanese Craft Whisky’ made in small-scale distilleries across Japan, and serve as an opportunity for travelers to explore different regions of Japan. This marks the third installment of the initiative, featuring two types of whisky from the Kosho Kajinosuke Distillery in Kagoshima. The sale is limited to one bottle per person per flight.
‘Kajinosuke DOUBLE DISTILLERY’ is a blended Japanese whisky selected from new barrels of ‘Single Malt Kajinosuke’, crafted using three types of distillation apparatus, and ‘Kajinosuke HIOKI POT STILL’ distilled with a unique method using a direct-fired pot still at the Hioki distillery. This whisky is available exclusively to First and Business class passengers through the international in-flight ‘Pre-order Service’, limited to 500 bottles. The price is 13,000 yen (tax included).
‘Single Malt Kajinosuke’ is a whisky that leverages the traditional techniques of ‘distilling’ and ‘barrel aging’ cultivated through the production of ‘Mellow Kozu’, the first barrel-aged shochu in Japan. The price is 9,000 yen (tax included).
