Aircalin has officially decided to suspend its Tokyo/Narita to Noumea flights during the winter schedule period.
The suspension period is until March 29, 2025. Tickets already booked will be refunded.
In New Caledonia, on May 13, protest activities against independence turned violent, leading to road blockages, arson on buildings and vehicles in certain areas. Emergency declarations and curfews were issued, and Tontouta International Airport was temporarily closed, causing significant impact. Consequently, after a temporary suspension, flights resumed in June. Meanwhile, the decision to suspend flights starting from September 1 was previously made.
