JR Kyushu will implement planned suspensions across all lines including the Kyushu Shinkansen on August 29 due to the approach of Typhoon No. 10.
On the Kyushu Shinkansen, operations between Hakata and Kumamoto stations will be suspended from 8 a.m., and from the first train of the day between Kumamoto and Kagoshima-Chuo stations. Additionally, direct operations connecting with the Sanyo Shinkansen, including the “Mizuho” and “Sakura” services, will be cancelled. The West Kyushu Shinkansen will see suspensions across the entire line from the first train of the day.
All express and D&S trains will be cancelled. Local and rapid trains will be suspended from the first train in the southern parts of Kyushu, with other lines and sections following around noon.
Services that do operate will do so with reduced frequency. It is noted that depending on the path of the typhoon and weather conditions, suspensions may extend from the first train on August 30.
