Sanyo Shinkansen Moves Up Scheduled Suspensions for Today, August 29, Due to Typhoon No. 10: Services West of Hiroshima Station to be Suspended After 5 PM
West Japan Railway Company (JR West) has modified its operational plans for today, August 29, due to the approach of Typhoon No. 10.
As of 9:20 AM on August 29, it has been decided to suspend operations between Hiroshima and Hakata stations generally after 5 PM. The last trains on this section will be the downbound “Mizuho No. 609” (departing Hiroshima Station at 5:20 PM) and the upbound “Nozomi No. 56” (departing Hakata Station at 5:36 PM). Additionally, “Mizuho” and “Sakura” services have suspended their direct operations with the Kyushu Shinkansen.
On August 30, scheduled suspensions of operations will be implemented from the first train of the day until the morning for the Sanyo Shinkansen (between Hiroshima and Hakata stations) and the Hakata-Minami Line. Furthermore, there is a possibility of scheduled suspensions on August 31 as well.
