
Tokaido Shinkansen May Suspend Services Due to Typhoon No. 6
JR East and JR West will operate extra trains on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and the limited express ‘Thunderbird’ today, August 31.
On the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Tsuruga Station, a total of 5 trains will operate: 3 Kagayaki trains with reserved seats only in the upwards direction and 1 in the downwards direction, and 1 Hakutaka train with non-reserved seats in the downwards direction. These stops include Fukui, Kanazawa, Toyama, Nagano, Omiya, and Ueno stations.
The ‘Thunderbird’ will operate a total of 5 trains: 2 downwards from Osaka Station, 1 downwards from Shin-Osaka Station, and 2 upwards from Tsuruga Station. All of these extra trains connect at Tsuruga Station.
The Tokaido Shinkansen will suspend operation between Mishima and Nagoya stations until tomorrow, September 1.
