Tokaido Shinkansen, No Operation Outlook from Tokyo to Mishima Station from the First Train on September 1st

JR Central has announced that, due to the heavy rain caused by Typhoon No. 10, the Tokaido Shinkansen will continue to cancel planned operations on September 1st.

For the Tokyo-Mishima station segment, there was a prospect of operating the temporary “Kodama” service stopping at each station at a frequency of about two trains per hour in each direction in regular cars with all non-reserved seating. However, due to the forecast of heavy rainfall, there is no outlook on when the operations will begin from the first train. Depending on the future rainfall situation, there is a possibility of a long suspension or a suspension of operations for the entire day.

For the Nagoya-Shin Osaka station segment, the temporary “Kodama” service that stops at each station will operate with all non-reserved seating in regular cars at a frequency of about two trains per hour in each direction.

For the Mishima-Nagoya station segment, due to the heavy rain mainly in Shizuoka Prefecture, the operation has already been announced to be suspended for the whole day.

There is a possibility that all lines or certain sections might undergo planned suspension or a long suspension of operations on September 2nd as well. There are no planned suspensions for September 3rd.
