Hoshino Resorts BEB5 Tsuchiura is hosting an event, ‘BEB Dried Sweet Potato Fest’, from September 1 to November 20, celebrating Ibaraki Prefecture’s specialty, dried sweet potatoes.
In its fourth year, the event will introduce new items in addition to last year’s popular ‘Dried Sweet Potato Frappe’ (950 yen), including ‘Dried Sweet Potato Gelato’ (500 yen) mixed with dried sweet potato, ‘Melty Honey Cheese Whole Dried Sweet Potato’ (650 yen) combining whole dried sweet potato and cheese, and ‘Sweet Syrup-Coated Dried Sweet Potato Sticks’ (300 yen). During the event, the public space ‘TAMARIBA’ will be decorated with dried sweet potato-themed goods, and a ‘Choose Your Own Dried Sweet Potato Stand’ will be set up, featuring staff-recommended selections of five types from typical sweet potato varieties and manufacturing methods. Two types of making methods, flat drying and whole drying, along with three varieties of sweet potatoes, Beniharuka, Tamayutaka, and Silk Sweet, will be available.
The dried sweet potato stand sells by weight, at 4 yen per gram. All prices include tax. The dried sweet potato food is available from 3 P.M. to 9 P.M.
