Cathay Pacific Airways has begun voluntarily inspecting the engines on all 48 of its Airbus A350 aircraft, leading to several days of flight cancellations.
This decision came after the CX383 flight from Hong Kong to Zurich (Airbus A350-1000, registration number: B-LXI) had to return mid-flight on September 2nd due to a discovered fault in engine components. Consequently, 24 flights have been canceled today, September 3rd.
The inspections are expected to conclude today, September 3rd, with certain components identified for replacement. The airline has secured the necessary spare parts and is proceeding with repair work.
