Peach Aviation and Daiya Industry have jointly developed a support belt for individuals who have difficulty maintaining a seated position, designed for use on board aircraft and at airports.
The support belt is designed to be used on top of the seatbelt, fixing the upper body to the seat as a seating aid. It targets individuals who, due to disabilities, illnesses, or injuries, find it difficult to maintain a seated position and require assistance.
Using three types of seat mockups utilized by Peach, the structure and specifications were confirmed before moving on to the product design. After creating prototypes, the final product was completed following tests for comfort and fit. Two types have been introduced, a vest type and a belt type, with 30 of each type.
The vest type is worn like a vest, where after tightening the buckle on the chest side, the belt is crossed behind the seat and fastened in the front with velcro. The belt type is a single strip that is simply secured by fastening the velcro.
