NEXCO East Japan will change the name of the Koide Interchange (IC) to ‘Uonuma IC’ from November 1.
The Koide IC is an interchange on the Kan-Etsu Expressway, located in Hoshikoshi, Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. The decision to change the name was led by the Uonuma City IC Name Review Committee, consisting of Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, the Uonuma City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council, the Uonuma City Tourism Association, and NEXCO East Japan, among others. The initiative began around 2022 with the aim of increasing the recognition of the Uonuma area.
