Grand Hyatt Tokyo will be offering ‘Halloween Noir Afternoon Tea’ from September 17th to October 31st.
Adopting a mysterious noir (black) theme, the tea incorporates Halloween-inspired eerie motifs such as black cats, ghosts, and eyeballs. The purple potato tart is decorated with chocolate resembling a spider web, plus a spherical chocolate with a red berry jelly inside to mimic blood, and decorations of black cats and bats are also prepared. For the savory items, there are sandwiches styled like coffins and buckwheat crepes containing sausages designed to look like fingers, while the scones have been made in a black version to match the noir theme.
The venue is ‘The French Kitchen’ on the second floor. Available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m. Weekdays are limited to 2 hours, and weekends and holidays to 90 minutes. Prices are 5,940 yen on weekdays, and 7,590 yen on weekends and holidays, which includes a glass of champagne. Both prices are inclusive of tax but exclusive of service charge.
