Hawaiian Airlines Commences Free Starlink Wi-Fi Service on Japan Routes
Hawaiian Airlines has begun offering free, high-speed, low-latency in-flight Wi-Fi via Starlink on all Airbus aircraft operating routes between the US mainland, Asia, Oceania, and Japan.
The service was first launched on the Airbus A321neo in February, and has now been fully implemented across all Airbus A330 aircraft. Connectivity is available from the moment of boarding, allowing passengers to stream videos and connect to online games. It is planned to extend this service to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner as well.
Evan Nomura, Director of In-flight Entertainment and Onboard Products, said, “Being the first major airline to offer Starlink for free is a tremendous achievement for our team. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our passengers who are enjoying the best connectivity available in the air, and there could be no greater joy for us.”
