JAL’s 6th Airbus A350-1000 Aircraft Arrives at Haneda

Japan Airlines (JAL)’s 6th Airbus A350-1000 aircraft (registration number: JA06WJ) arrived at Haneda Airport on October 3rd.

The aircraft departed from Toulouse, France, as flight JL8102 at 3:19 PM on October 2nd, took off 46 minutes later, landed at Haneda Airport at 11:26 AM the next day, and arrived at spot 212 at 11:33 AM.

The Airbus A350-1000 is a new flagship international aircraft, succeeding the current main international aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER. It has a four-class configuration with 239 seats: 6 seats in First Class in a ‘1-1-1’ layout, 54 seats in Business Class in a ‘1-2-1’ layout, 24 seats in Premium Economy Class in a ‘2-4-2’ layout, and 155 seats in Economy Class in a ‘3-3-3’ layout. Both First Class and Business Class feature JAL’s first-ever private suites with doors. The in-flight entertainment (IFE) system provides 4K resolution monitors in all classes and allows wireless earphone connection via Bluetooth.

A total of 13 aircraft have been ordered, with the first aircraft arriving at Haneda Airport on December 15, 2023, the second on January 15, and the third on March 31, the fourth on August 1, and the fifth on August 11. The aircraft type began service on January 24 and is currently operated on two daily round trips between Tokyo/Haneda and New York/John F. Kennedy, and one daily round trip between Tokyo/Haneda and Dallas/Fort Worth. Additionally, it has been announced that from October 24, the aircraft will be deployed on the Tokyo/Haneda to London/Heathrow route on alternate days for flights JL43/44. (Photo provided by JAL)
