Etihad Airways and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism have revealed a significant increase in the use of the Abu Dhabi stopover program.
Approximately 24,000 people utilized the program in the first half of 2024, marking a substantial increase of 242% compared to about 7,000 users in the second half of 2023. The number is expected to continue growing in the latter half of the year, aiming to achieve the annual target of 75,000 stopover users.
The program allows travelers with Abu Dhabi as a stopover destination to enjoy a free 1- or 2-night stay at one of Abu Dhabi’s premier hotels. Users, on average, stay for two nights, with the program being particularly popular among travelers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, European Union countries, and India. Plans for further enhancement of the program are underway.
