Carstay Launches a ‘Moving Hotel’ Camper Service
Carstay has launched a new service utilizing campers as ‘moving hotels’.
This service is aimed at providing accommodation in the form of campers to areas experiencing temporary accommodation shortages during outdoor events such as music festivals, fireworks displays, and festivals nationwide. It includes local vehicle support, troubleshooting, and withdrawal.
Each vehicle can sleep 4 to 6 people and is equipped with domestic air conditioning and heating systems. For deployments within an 80 km radius of Tokyo Station, the price starts from approximately 260,000 yen for one vehicle for two nights (60 hours), with a minimum of five vehicles per dispatch.
Currently, Carstay has registered approximately 500 camper and camper-style vehicles across Japan, making it possible to dispatch vehicles to events nationwide. The company has a history of deploying campers to events in Niigata and Gunma Prefectures, as well as to reconstruction businesses active in the aftermath of the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
