Kumamoto City Transportation Bureau Sells ‘Half-Price Pass’ to Reduce Traffic Congestion
The Kumamoto City Transportation Bureau will sell the ‘Half-Price Pass’ to Eliminate Traffic Congestion from October 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
This is part of a demonstrative experiment for improving convenience by promoting public transportation use and reducing automobile usage to eliminate traffic congestion. During the campaign, the pass allows usage of Kumamoto Prefecture’s buses, electric railway trains, and Kumamoto City trams at half the regular fare. It applies to rides after 9 AM on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays.
The price is 2,500 yen, including a 500 yen deposit. It will be available for purchase at SAKURA MACHI Kumamoto Bus Information Center, Sanko Bus and Kumamoto City Bus offices, Kumamoto Electric Railway headquarters, sales offices and some railway stations, and Kumamoto Bus offices.
