Hilton Grand Vacations Acquires Citadines Kyoto Karasuma-Gojo
Hilton Grand Vacations has acquired Citadines Kyoto Karasuma-Gojo.
It was opened in March 2010 as the second serviced apartment under the Citadines brand in Japan and ceased operations in September.
Following Odawara and Okinawa Sesoko Island, this becomes the third facility in Japan. A full renovation is planned, converting it into 63 one-bedroom timeshare units, each with a kitchen. Renovation work is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Sales are slated to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
Mark Wang, CEO, stated, “Based on our history as a leading vacation ownership company in Japan, we are delighted to expand our portfolio and offer our members even more vacation experiences. Kyoto, being a globally famous cultural travel destination filled with history, tradition, and elegance, we are looking forward to welcoming new members and guests seeking cultural experiences.”
The number of Hilton Grand Vacations members in Japan exceeds 72,000, appealing not only to those who favour vacationing in popular destinations like Hawaii but also to those who prefer domestic travel.
