Hankyu Railway to Support Contactless Payment for Rides Starting October 29
Hankyu Railway will start supporting rides with contactless payment using credit cards and other means from October 29.
This will be implemented in collaboration with Mitsui Sumitomo Card, Visa Worldwide Japan, JCB, and QUADRAC.
Riders can board and exit by touching their cards or smartphones to a newly installed dedicated reader at the gates. Except for Osaka Namba Station, touch payment at automatic ticket gates is planned to be supported by spring 2025.
The supported brands are Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay. Mastercard will be added sequentially.
