All Nippon Airways (ANA) has launched a free text messaging service via in-flight Wi-Fi on international flights starting from October 9th at 1:00 AM.
The service, which allows text communication through SNS and email for free, is available in Premium Economy and Economy classes. Supported text messaging apps include LINE, WhatsApp, iMessage, Google Chat, and Facebook Messenger. However, browsing the internet through a web browser will incur charges. Aircraft without “THE Room” in Boeing 777-300ER are excluded.
In First Class, in-flight Wi-Fi has been available for free without restriction since June 2018, and in Business Class, it has been available since August 20th of this year.
