JR East to Operate Overnight Trains on 7 Lines in the Tokyo Area from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day
Asa Coast Railway to Resume DMV Service on October 12
Asa Coast Railway resumed the operation of the DMV (Dual Mode Vehicle) on the Anza Higashi Line throughout its entire route, starting with the first train on October 12.
The service was suspended from October 1 due to a planned outage, as a minor defect was found in a part of a vehicle during a regular inspection. After a thorough inspection of all vehicles for safety reasons, the service was resumed as safety was confirmed in all vehicles.
The line operates DMVs capable of running both rail and bus sections, with service between Awa-Kainan Bunkamura and the Shishikui Onsen Road Station on weekdays, and between Awa-Kainan Bunkamura and the Umi no Eki Toromu on weekends and holidays.
