Diners Club to Change Overseas and Domestic Travel Accident Insurance to Usage-Based Starting April 2025
Diners Club is set to change its overseas and domestic travel accident insurance to a usage-based system starting from departures on April 1, 2025.
While currently the travel accident insurance and air travel delay insurance apply regardless of card usage, from that day onwards, they will apply conditionally, only when the travel expenses are paid with the card. There are 24 types of cards eligible for overseas travel accident insurance and 8 types for domestic travel accident insurance.
There will be no changes to the coverage amounts. The eligible usages for the included insurance are expenses such as train fare, taxi fare, and limousine bus fare to the airport, airline tickets, and tour fees. However, season tickets, car rentals, and lodging expenses will not be covered.
