Virgin Atlantic Announces Changes to Point Earning and Redemption Rules, Introducing Saver Awards for Easier Upper-Class Accumulation
Virgin Atlantic will change the rules for earning and using points in its Flying Club starting October 30.
While the required points for reward tickets will become variable, they will be usable for all flights and classes at any time. Moreover, with the introduction of Saver awards, tickets to New York can start from 6,000 points, reducing the required number of points more than before.
Point-based upgrades are possible from paid or reward tickets, and companion vouchers or upgrade vouchers can also be used.
Furthermore, the amount of points that can be earned in upper classes or with premium tickets will increase. Up to a 50% increase for upper classes, and up to a 75% increase for premium tickets.
In 2022, Virgin Atlantic introduced a system to ensure at least 12 reward ticket seats on all flights.
