The Airport Authority Hong Kong has announced that the Hong Kong International Airport is expected to start operating its three runways from November 28.
After initiating the operation of the new north runway in November 2022, the central runway was temporarily closed for operation with only two runways.
The central runway underwent regrading and the construction of new taxiways. Flight inspections were completed in September, followed by a crash scenario rescue training conducted in October. The authority aims to acquire the necessary license within the month and commence operations.
The airport is also aiming to start operating the expanded Terminal 2 by the end of 2025.
